The opposite of the stiletto….

So my last post was about the colored heel, which made me think about those days you do not want to wear heels, but do not quite want to wear sneakers either. As much as I love, love, love wearing high, high, high heels, I am a busy mom and a special education teacher, and there are may days that I just need to wear flats. I am super bored with the ballet, round toe flat, (as classic as they are), I feel like I have worn them for 10 years straight. Enter the new and exciting pointed toe flat that ties around the ankle. I think I secretly love the fact that it ties around the ankle because it reminds me of my pointe shoe days from years of ballet classes.

These shoes work for the busy mom, the working woman who commutes, and the woman who just hates to wear heels, but wants to still look stylish. As you know, I love Amazon…lol…and I found my pair of pointed toe flats there. I chose to go with a nude color because it really does go with everything, and I love that color for spring, summer, and even fall clothes. Again, it was a steal!!!! Look at this price! And they are very comfortable. You can make the shoe as tight or lose as you want by the way you choose to tie it.

I think this style shoe works best with a cuffed or skinny jean/pant, a dress or skirt that hits at the knee or above, or a capri style pant. Personally, I love them best with cuffed jeans. I tend to wear them a lot at work, because I run around my classroom all day as a teacher. However, I also love to wear them on a busy Saturday when I need to be somewhat dressed (and not in my typical weekend athleisure) because they take me from morning til night without needing a change of outfit. I can food shop with them, take my son to golf lessons, and manage to look decent for dinner and drinks too.

I also love fashion items that can take you through multiple seasons. These shoes work in spring, summer, and fall. I have included some examples below of  how these shoes work various spring, summer, and fall outfits.

As you can see, they look cute with skinny jeans and a long sleeve top, shorts with a blouse, and a dress.

And….the final reason why I love these shoes has to do with the fact that the pointed toe elongates the legs and for a girl who is 4’11” with very short legs,  this is a definite bonus for me!

I will leave you with this thought…if you want to be “on point” with your style, go and get some pointed toe flats that tie around the ankles. 🙂
