I have been obsessed with taking care of my skin since I was a young girl. My mother has gorgeous skin, and she has always ingrained in me the importance of following a skin care routine. After all, the skin is the largest organ in our body so we must preserve it! Although I cleanse and moisturize at home and use anti-aging products on a regular basis, the fact of the matter is….I am 40 now…legit….it has happened….and it is not enough to “just do stuff at home” anymore. I like to get anti-aging treatments and facials at spas because I feel like it gives my skin that “extra boost” that I need to maintain my youthful appearance.

A woman I know recommended a local day spa to me to try out. I usually go to bigger salons in the city, but I am such a supporter of small, local businesses that I figured why not try it out!!! I loved what I saw as soon as I walked in. The way it was decorated was right up my alley!!

Eleni, the salon owner, was so friendly and extremely knowledgeable. She was able to answer all of my questions about anti-aging treatments. She was upfront and honest, and told me exactly what I needed (and also what I did not need)… so I did not feel like she was just trying to “sell me services” whatsoever.

I decided to get the hydrafacial. I have gotten this type of facial one other time before, and it is currently the only facial I will get now!!!

 

 

Before the facial began this was me and my naked skin….a little beaten up from the summer sun! Tanned, but uneven and lacking a glow. I also had some darker pigmentation from my Italian skin being in the sun so much!

The facial goes through the following process:

This was the end result…notice the glow!! The brown spots from my cheekbones were also practically non-existent!!

Eleni was so pleasant to talk to throughout the facial. She also gave a super, relaxing massage for the scalp, neck, and shoulder areas. I should add that I also got an eyebrow wax before the facial began.

Now….I must say….I DO NOT have sensitive skin whatsoever….BUT I ALWAYS break out and get red after waxing and facials…this is the FIRST one that I had no redness or breakouts….NONE…ZILCH!!!! I was so ecstatic that I already booked another facial for September!! I will never drive into Boston again for skin and waxing services!
